आमेर किले, जयगढ़ किले के एकदम समानांतर स्थित है और ये दोनों किले नीचे एक मार्ग से जुड़े हुए हैं। इसे बनाने का मकसद दुश्मनों से किले की रक्षा था। आमेर किले का सबसे पहला निर्माण राजा काकिल देव ने 11वीं सदी में शुरू करवाया था, लेकिन बाद में 1592 में राजा मान सिंह ने इसे पूरा करवाया था। आमेर का किला मध्य काल का एक स्मारक है।

यह किला अपनी वास्तुकला के लिए जाना जाता है। राजस्थान के जयपुर में स्थित आमेर का किला भव्य होने के साथ ही खूबसूरत भी है। इस किले को बनाने में लाल संगमरमर के पत्थरों का इस्तेमाल किया गया है। यह आमेर किले का सबसे पुराना महल है, जिसे राजा मानसिंह ने बनवाया था। जो देखने लायक है। किले में मौजूद शीश महल को देखना बहुत ही यादगार रहेगा। यह शीशे से घिरा एक ऐसा कमरा है, जिसमें प्रकाश की एक किरण से पूरा कमर रौशन हो जाता है। मशहूर बॉलीवुड फिल्म मुगल-ए-आजम के गाने प्यार किया तो डरना क्या कि शूटिंग इसी महल में हुई है। आमेर किले में एंट्री करते ही सामने एकदम संगमरमर के चालीस खंभों से बना एक बहुत ही बड़ा आयताकार भवन है। कहा जाता है यहां राजा का दरबार लगता था। इस भवन का निर्माण राजा जयसिंह ने करवाया था।

The Amer Fort has four sections, each with a beautifully decorated entrance and courtyard. The main entrance to the fort is called "Suraj Pof or Sun Gate' which leads to the first courtyard. This gateway got its name because it faces the rising sun. The name of the first courtyard is
'Jaleb Chowk. it was the place where armies held victory parades on their return from war.
The staircase from Jaleb Chowk leads to the main palace grounds. Amer Fort is influenced by Hindu and Rajputana style of architecture. in the second courtyard is the Diwant-Aam. It is a huge hall open from three sides. The king used to hold meetings here to hear the petitions of public
