The King of Fighters '98: Dream Match Never Ends is the fifth installment in The King of Fighters series. Originally released for the Neo-Geo, it was later ported to the Sony PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast. The Dreamcast version was titled The King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999.
A remake titled The King of Fighters '98 Ultimate Match was released in Japanese arcades on March 18, 2008, and later for the Sony PlayStation 2. The original game was subsequently released for iOS on July 25, 2014.
Plot & Gameplay
Regarding the plot, the game does not feature a canonical story; it was developed as a "dream match" featuring characters from all previous entries in the series, including those who had deceased in the lore. The series' canonical storyline would later resume in The King of Fighters '99.
