Professor Mpine Makoe of the University of South Africa and Professor George Veletsianos of Royal Roads University share their outlook for digital assessment drawn from research and experience. Assessment continues to be ill-conceived, and with the accelerated uptake of digital learning solutions under the Covid 19 pandemic, there is an opportunity to let the horse pull the cart - learner centred design, with intentions to develop knowledge, skills and competencies for 21st Century learning should drive assessment, design of content and instruction.
