This week brings the release of Metroid Dread, the first original 2D installment in Nintendo's long-running sci-fi franchise in almost twenty years. For many, Metroid Fusion is a high-water mark in the series and one of the Game Boy Advance's very best games, but I have a confession to make -- I was never that into it. It was too linear and felt like it was always holding my hand, taking away a lot of what I loved about Super Metroid. But, with the next installment just days away, I figured that this might be a great time to give this side-scrolling classic a second look. Turn back now if you don't want to know what happens, because today we're going to spoil the story and ending for Metroid Fusion on the Game Boy Advance. This is Game Over: The Early Years!
