We have trees down, power outages, and NO TRAINS! Our electricity went out at 6am this morning so I got everyone around and said, “Let’s go find some trains!” We drove to our normal spots and not only were there no trains, but also no lights on - which is very uncommon, especially in the morning around here!

As we started driving around we realized the ice was doing way more damage than we realized! Once we headed North we saw the full gravity of the situation as we passed tree after tree down across the highway and also the Union Pacific mainline!

I have never seen anything like it and really wanted to go further to get more video footage but decided safety first, so I headed back!

It’s 11:12pm, at the time of upload, and we still don’t have power at our house (we are staying elsewhere tonight!), but are hopeful to have power tomorrow and a WHOLE bunch of backed up trains to video as well!

Please say a prayer for all the workers getting our electricity back on, keeping trees off the roads, and getting the tracks cleared! 🙏🏻
