Mac & Rachel 1989--Mac Meets Frankie Frame

Mac and Rachel are at the courthouse with John and Sharlene, and everyone is awaiting the verdict in Felicia's trial. Jamie approaches then with Frankie (his cousin) and introduces her to Rachel and Mac (Rachel and Frankie met before this). Mac tells Frankie that once the trial is over, he's sure the Frames will be back to normal. Frankie questions Mac about putting up the bail money for Felicia. Mac replies that he knows Felicia and knows that she's innocent. Sharlene asks Frankie to please not do this. Mac continues that Felicia is one of his oldest and dearest friends, and an associate, and adds that he knows what it's like to charged with a crime you didn't commit because he went through it last summer, then excuses himself. Rachel goes after Mac. Frankie says she really didn't mean to upset Mac. Sharlene tells Frankie that she loves Frankie, but sometimes Sharlene wishes Frankie would keep her big mouth shut. Frankie apologizes. Jamie tells Frankie that Mac has gone through a rough couple of days. Frankie says she's really sorry to hear that, but if the jury finds Felicia guilty of murdering Jason, then Frankie wants Felicia sent up the river for life. Rachel asks Mac if he's sure he's up to being at the courthouse tonight, and Mac replies that he's too anxious to stay home. Rachel tells Mac he's got to let this go. Mac replies that he's trying to let this go, but he keeps thinking of last summer...and it was all because of Iris, his own daughter. Rachel tells Mac she hates to see him like this, but he tells her he's fine. What other choice does he have? When Mac heads inside, Jamie approaches Rachel and asks what they can do for Mac. Rachel says she could have done something, but she didn't. She could have kept quiet about Iris being "The Chief," but she was so sure it would come out and Mac would have to know. Jamie tells Rachel that she did the right thing, but Rachel wonders if it's something Mac just can't handle, and then goes after Mac herself.
