Short comparison of stock ASUS GTX970 TURBO 4GB OC (reference cooling, turbine) vs the same ASUS GTX970 using ACCELERO MONO PLUS cooler. HUGE IMPROVEMENT, you mostly hear CPU and case fan in the second part of the video.
Update: no issues after 2,5 year of use.
What is interesting - ASUS GTX970 Turbo has a nice big aluminium&copper cooler under the white cover. If you dont want to loose warranty you could only unscrew the plastic cover and remove turbine fan, buy a quiet 4pin 80mm GPU fan and install it on top of this cooler and i think it will work just fine.
