He addressed in his presentation how architecture projects are connected to the sites. He showed how this principle is put into practice through his various works.
Born in Mexico City, Alberto Kalach studied architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City and completed his Masters from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, in 1985. In 1981 he co-founded the firm “Taller de Arquitectura X” with Daniel Alvarez until 2002. Kalach continues to direct as the Principal Architect of TAX. In 2002 his interests also turned to the urban planning problems of his own home town, and founded the community “Mexico: future city” (Mexico: ciudad futura)
He has several architectural and urban projects to his credit; from the minimum of USD 5,000 housing to environmental hydrological rescue plan for the entire basin of Mexico. He published several articles in national and international magazines of architecture and participated in the “Recovering the City of Lakes” project.
