In Salvage, Skirmish, and Doubles Skirmish, you can revive your teammates if they die. When you do so, they obtain a window of invulnerability and a temporary shield that lasts a little longer. However, some snipers with high enough impact can still one shot with a headshot.
As for the sniping through walls, snipers with the armor-piercing perk allows your bullets to go through some obstacles such as walls, rocks, and other guardians. Although, it doesn't go through everything, some surfaces will cause the bullets to ricochet instead. This perk relies a lot on luck and a very small amount of skill.
As for the spawn killing.. you just have to run into "that guy" who revives his teammate despite the circumstances of a sniper watching over the ghost and proceeds to not even help after reviving.
