مخطط الحالة هو تمثيل مرئي لسلوك النظام، يوضح الحالات المختلفة التي يمكن أن يتواجد فيها الكائن والأحداث التي تسبب انتقاله بين هذه الحالات. يرسم عن طريق تمثيل الحالات كمربعات أو دوائر، وربطها بأسهم تمثل الانتقالات التي يتم تصنيفها بالأحداث أو الشروط التي تحفزها.

State diagrams aren't created for every class. They are needed only if an object of the class can exist in
several states, and behaves very differently in each of the states.
A State diagram shows the life cycle of a single object, from the time that it is created until it is
destroyed.
