October is internationally celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Along the world we celebrate this as PINKtober. The month-long campaign allows the issue to be highlighted as a top health priority, with the disease affecting many women in their lives.
October 13 is nationally recognized as Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. About 30% of early-stage breast cancers eventually metastasize (spread to parts of the body away from the breast), and the day is intended to drive awareness of the need for more research about metastatic disease.
Pink Pakistan is a non-profit and non-government organization dedicated to improving the lives of the women belonging to marginalized communities in Pakistan. The organization launched several initiatives to ensure their ultimate goal of empowering these women, by safeguarding their right to well-being and welfare in our society.
