This is a very much anticipated trip since I've arrived at Sarawak few days back! This is also a vacation with my friend's to celebrate one of my friends' birthday.
Mulu (Gunung Mulu National Park) is a national park in the Miri Division in Sarawak. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it has the largest cave passage in the world - the Deer cave that we visited. It also has the largest naturally enclosed space (Sarawak Chamber) and one of the 10 longest caves (Clearwater cave) in the world. Caves are the signature of Mulu.
There is only one hotel in the Gunung Mulu National Park, which is the Marriot Mulu. A lot of the facilities of the hotel were not operating due to the pandemic, and the first lunch at the hotel was disappointing (we didn't expect that quality from an international 5-star hotel). However, buffet dinner was acceptable, and nonetheless, we did enjoyed our stay very much!
We didn't find out other types of accommodation in Mulu, but I believe that if you are open to homestay or staying at the aborigines' longhouses, I'm sure there are such offers (you'll need to find it out).
