Right. So for anyone having the flashing issues I had at the start. Try this:
1. Navigate to the folder with the games files
-If you have the game installed on steam, you can do this easily like this. Right click the game / Manage / Browse local files
2. Double click "GameSettings.exe"
3. Make sure Vertical Sync is enabled. That's it. For some reason at least for me antialiasing destroyed my game, so maybe set that to none. But this is pretty much all I did
