I say pretty much what needs said in the video about these, but these are the two typical styles of sidelites for hollow metal door frames. Of the second type shown, it can vary depending on the job. the Sidelite can be short in height, lets say 2' x2' glass up at the door head height, needing a pony wall below, could be from the latch height to the head. anything really. Same goes for width of the Sidelite, tho typically it's not more than 8', because it becomes to big and heavy to move around on the job and set correctly, and can easily get bent out of shape. It's also super rare, but I HAVE set a Sidelite or two where the glass Sidelite was on both the latch AND the hinge side! That was crazy.
Speaking of shorter height Sidelites (like the 2'x2' example, you'll want to run your double king studs against the Sidelite itself, and just frame normally under it. if it's particularly tall, it may warrant installing a steel pony wall post, but usually that's not necessary. Check with your architect/engineer if it seems a little wobbly, especially if it's a long Sidelite and on also on an exterior wall.
