ABOUT AHMED IBRAHIM JIMALE:
Ahmed Ibrahim Awale is development practitioner with over 30 years professional experience with civil society in Somaliland, dealing with natural resource management, sustainable livelihoods and rural / community development. A founding member of one of the most prominent organizations in Somaliland, Candlelight for Environment, Education and Health), and currently serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors and founding member of Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation, and its current Chair of the Board of Directors.
Ahmed holds Bachelor of Science degree (B. Sc.) in Natural Resources with a major in range ecosystems, and also Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com.) Ahmed holds wide hands-on experience in the environmental sector of Somalia (with particular emphasis on Somaliland). He is also the author of number of books on the Somali Environment, Somali history and culture. He has founded Asli Mills, a successful business in Somaliland that deals in add valuing the nature-based produced sourced from local plants for nutritional, medicinal and cosmetic uses. Ahmed is a lecturer at the University of Hargeisa, department of Environmental Science.
