Описание: Brookfield Police release video of high-speed chase that led to arrest of Warren man Brookfield Township, OH - The Brookfield Township Police have released dashcam video of a high-speed chase that led to the arrest of a Warren man on Friday, February 14. The chase began in Sharon, but eventually headed towards Brookfield Township, prompting Brookfield officers to join the case. The newly-released dashcam video shows the moment when a Brookfield Township officer spotted the suspect vehicle, allegedly driven by 24-year-old Xavier Ford, headed his way. The officer tries to back up to turn around and follow the vehicle, which just misses the officer's cruiser, according to a police report. "Disregard. He almost hit me," the officer says.
The chase led police westbound on State Route 82 before the car exits to merge onto Route 11 North, eventually getting off at an exit only to turn around and start heading southbound on Route 11. The chase continues until troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol were able to slow the vehicle down via road spikes. That's when Ford allegedly gets out of the car and runs from police into a wooded area, prompting a foot pursuit, leaving the car to roll off into a nearby embankment. Not long after this, police bring Ford back out of the woods and take him into custody.
Ford is charged with a felony count of failure to comply with a police officer, as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, reckless operation and driving under suspension. According to court records, Ford's case has been bound over to a higher court on Thursday and is now being considered by a grand jury.
