Evening on the Danube from Liberty Bridge

Описание: The green bridge in Budapest is Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd in Hungarian) which tourists often call "the green bridge."

The bridge was inaugurated in 1896 as part of the Millennium World Exhibition and connects Fővám Square on the Pest side with Gellért Square on the Buda side. It's the shortest bridge in Budapest's center at 333.6 meters. Interestingly, the bridge was originally painted grey after World War II because that was the only color available, and it didn't get its green color back until 1984. The green color comes from the use of copper.

The bridge features beautiful Art Nouveau design and is decorated with mythical Turul birds (from Hungarian mythology) on top of its pillars. It's a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, especially for watching sunsets over the Danube. #hungary #budapest #danube #libertybridge #bridge
