🔍 Episode Overview:
Around 2:03 a.m. on February 24, 2024, Patrolman Robert Then from Palisades Park Police spotted a white 2021 Honda take a super wide turn north on Broad Avenue from East Central Boulevard. The driver pulled into a liquor store lot. Then started a traffic stop at Broad Avenue and East Palisades Boulevard. He got out and talked to the driver, Windi.

While chatting with her, he smelled booze. She fumbled for her papers. Later checks showed her license was suspended from an old DWI bust. At first, she said no drinks. Then she owned up to some alcohol. Officers suspected she was drunk. Patrolman Park showed up. They had her try sobriety tests outside.

She said she was cold, so they took her to the municipal building. Inside the courtroom, they ran the tests. Park finished just the eye-jerk one, Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. Windi skipped the rest.

Her wild drive, drunk signs, booze smell, and her own words got her arrested for driving drunk. Cops held her car 12 hours under John's Law.

Then walked her from court to the police station for paperwork. They read her rights in Spanish. She okayed a breath test. It read 0.00% blood alcohol. No drug expert checked her.

They wrapped up processing and gave her tickets. Then let her go with a sober friend. He signed the risk warning for her. Court date set.

Then handed her these tickets:
Driving under influence (39:4-50).
Careless driving (39:4-97).
Suspended license (39:3-40(F)(2)).

Windi had a DWI arrest before in Leonia on January 10, 2022. After this one in Palisades Park, cops nabbed her for a third DWI there on July 4, 2025. Then a fourth hit in Fairview on August 27, 2025. She has piles of other traffic tickets too.
