A mystery horror film by Zach Cregger that blurs the line between nightmare and small-town paranoia. When 17 children vanish from a third-grade class at 2:17 AM, everyone starts pointing fingers. A grieving father (Josh Brolin), a teacher under suspicion (Julia Garner), and the only child who didn’t disappear all find their lives unraveling. Dark secrets, witchcraft, possessed parents, a sinister aunt—this movie doesn’t let up.

Weapons follows the quiet town of Maybrook, Pennsylvania, shaken when nearly an entire third-grade class disappears overnight. The only child who remains, Alex Lilly, becomes central to a web of dread and suspicion. His teacher, Justine Gandy, is put on leave amid community rage. A grieving father, Archer Graff, begins his own investigation when the police stall.

Meanwhile, ominous clues arise: the parents of the children fall into catatonic trances, windows are boarded, and a mysterious woman, Gladys, emerges with sinister motivations. As the pieces come together, Alex must confront horrors too strange for the waking world—and those closest to him.

That final sequence with Aunt Gladys getting what she deserved was brutal. Gotta love how this film knew how to balance the pure horror with some absolutely hilarious moments that come in the most inappropriate (or should we say very appropriate) times. Loved the references that point to Aunt Gladys being a witch, the subtle parasite nods being put in here and there and of course the performance. She does not feel human!
