This is one of those Qawwali that we've grown up hearing. I have no recollection of the first time that I heard it. Needless to say that it's one of the most well-known Naat written by Hazrat Shams Tabrezi (RA). Before we get into the Qawwali itself, let's take a moment to understand who the writer is. We've heard of Maulana Rum (RA), known in the West simply as Rumi. But few realize that he, too, had a Master that trained him while Rumi (RA) was already at the top of his Clergical Career. It is said that while Hazrat Maulana Rum (RA) was giving a sermon, someone who "seemed" like a tribal man came and stood there. He started looking through the religious books, parchments, etc., and interrupted the sermon by asking what is all these books for? Maulana Rum got a bit annoyed and replied, "You won't understand," and kind of shrugged him off.

Later on, when Maulana Rum stopped on his travels near a flowing stream to do Wudu, he saw the same man sitting near the stream with his eyes clothes. He went over to greet him and apologize for the earlier event but wanted to advise him to never interrupt a sermon ever again. The man asked him to show one of his parchments to him. Maulana handed over a few for him to take a look. And the man right away threw them in the water. Maulana was horrified and started yelling, "You fool, this was my life's work"...soon enough, the man put his hand in the stream and pulled out all the parchments completely dry. Maulana asked him, how can this be? The man replied, "You won't understand," got on his horse, and rode away. Maulana Rum followed in his footsteps for the remainder of his life and accepted him as his true Sufi Master. That Sufi Master is the author of this Kalaam, Hazrat Shams Tabrezi (RA).

Yaseen & Taha:
These are two of the many Chapters of the Holy Quran. Surah Yaseen is also known as the "Heart of the Quran." What the writer is essentially saying is that we didn't have any knowledge of the Quran other than what the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us. In fact, a lot of Huruf-e-Muqattaat are said to be various titles of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), including Ya, Sin, Tua, Ha, Alif, Laam, Meem, Ra, etc. Although it is the word of God. Our proof of this is only the fact that we believe in the claims of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). So yes, our Creator is Allah (SWT). But everything we know of him, we know from his Beloved Messenger and therefore be grateful to the Messenger for delivering to us the Message exactly as revealed to him.

Sahib-e-Meiraj:
The author over and over tries to explain that whether it's Quran, Meiraj, Asra, Medina, or Kaaba...all those things we hold in the highest esteem are regarded sacred only because of the Personhood of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). None of these would have mattered if his essence wasn't in the mix. A lot of Orthodox Muslims wonder if being too respectful to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) may be considered as "Shirk" or joining another with Allah. Sometimes we've heard such people quote text from the Holy Quran in an effort to show that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is just like any other human being. Our Sheikh, Hazrat Baba Shah Mehmood Yousufi, once asked a young man, who was it that Allah graced with Ascension to the Heavens for a Private Meeting with our Creator? Who amongst all the Prophets was deemed as "Rahmatallil Alameen"? Who was it that Allah (SWT) revealed the Holy Quran to? And who is it that Allah (SWT) himself sends salutations to out of love and calls His Beloved?

Sadre Bazm-e-Kainaat:
He mentions here that Prophet Muhammad (SAW), in essence, holds the reigns of the entire universe. This is also mentioned in Hadith that Allah first created the "Primordial Light" or "Noor-e-Muhammadi" and created everything from that Light. Someone once asked Rasulullah (SAW), 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! When was the Prophethood established for you?' He said: 'While Adam was between (being) soul and body.'" (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3609)
