Johnson County and the City of Iowa City have been awarded a technical assistance grant to bring field mediation services to our community—an approach that helps address nonviolent interpersonal conflicts through dialogue, de-escalation, and dignity-centered practices.
This recorded training and community conversation shares how Dignity Best Practices, in partnership with local government and CommUnity Crisis Services, will develop and launch a 15-month pilot program that expands the Mobile Crisis Team’s ability to respond to nonviolent disputes. Learn what field mediation is, how the pilot will work, and hear from project partners as they discuss the future of community safety and conflict response in Iowa City.
