In this tutorial, I show you how to add variable links to your cards. By "variable links", I mean links which will vary depending on the exact content on the card. For example, let's say that you're studying Japanese and you're trying to memorize vocabulary. You could add a variable link to an online dictionary, where the word being searched in the dictionary is a function of what word is in a certain field. If 猫 shows up on the front of the card, you can have a link on the back of the card which searches 猫 in an online dictionary.
The point of this is to save time and be more efficient with your Anki studying. When making your own cards, it can be a waste of time to always e.g. copy and paste a definition to each card. Having a variable links means you only need to add the code for the link one time and then forever afterwards the cards will automatically show up with that information.
