Lying your eyes on Dubrovnik old town for the first time is something special. Usually places are touristy for good reason and this is one of them. I was dropped off by the airport bus close to Pile Gate and made my way into the fortified city of Dubrovnik - my first impressions were favourable!

I picked up the keys to my apartment (Lavender Garden Apartment) and set off to find the building somewhere in the south of the historic quarter. That’s where the fun started and I realised Dubrovnik is one big maze made up of narrow alleyways, tiny streets and plenty of steps!

Eventually I made it there and aside from doing some shopping at the local grocery store I’ll take you on a full tour of my apartment in Dubrovnik old town, a compact one-bedroom studio apartment with a private shower room and mini kitchen.
