What is EPM?

The Export Promotion Mission is a comprehensive and flexible mechanism involving the Department of Commerce, MSME Ministry, Ministry of Finance, financial institutions, export councils, industry bodies, and state governments. It brings India’s export promotion efforts under one adaptive umbrella to respond quickly to global trade challenges.

Key Components:

🔹 NIRYAT PROTSAHAN – Ensures affordable trade finance through interest subvention, export factoring, collateral guarantees, e-commerce export credit cards, and credit enhancement for new markets.

🔹 NIRYAT DISHA – Enhances non-financial support: international branding, packaging, export compliance, logistics, warehousing, inland transport reimbursements, and trade intelligence.

Why Is It Important?

The Mission directly tackles major hurdles such as costly trade finance, limited branding, compliance burdens, and logistical challenges — particularly for exporters in interior regions. Priority support will also be given to sectors facing global tariff shocks like textiles, leather, gems & jewellery, engineering goods, and marine products.

With DGFT as the implementing agency and a fully digital platform for applications and disbursals, EPM aims to enhance market access, strengthen export readiness, boost job creation, and support India’s vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
