Five thousand soldiers have marched through the northwestern Bosnian town of Bihac to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Bosnian army.

Bosnian president Alija Izetbegovic was among the estimated 50-thousand onlookers.

The Bosnian army's elite 5th Corps demonstrated its force in a military parade held in northwestern city of Bihac on Sunday.

These troops have a special place in the hearts of the 50-thousand strong crowd.

Last August they succeeded in routing the Bosnian Serb army and their allies - the
army of rebel Muslim leader, Fikret Abdic, after being under seige for more than a year.

The Bosnian government army victory put an end to the three-year-old siege of the enclave.

The soldiers paraded through the Bosnian town of Bihac 5th Army to celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the Bosnian Army in 1992.

The parade was watched by an estimated 100,000 people. Apart from President Alija Izetbegovic, also there were Deputy Ejup Ganic, and Prime Minister Muratovic.
