💡 Trivia

Why is it called Mt. Kupapey?
• It’s from the local term "kupapey," which means "butterfly" in the Maligcong dialect.

Mt. Fato = Rock Mountain
• Mt. Fato got its name from the Ilokano word “Fato”, meaning “rock” — giant boulders can be seen at the summit.

Yes, dogs hike here, too!
• Local guides, sometimes accompanied by friendly dogs, often join hikers on the trails. 

Sunrise vs. Sunset
• It's recommended to hike Mt. Kupapey for sunrise and Mt. Fato for sunset.
