The Triple Wing Dead Caddis is a caddis pattern that looks like something you scraped off your windshield, and that's why the trout love it. We're talking triple-digit rises and thirty fish landed on its first day of testing. Even when fished behind my tried-and-true Clacka Caddis, the Triple Wing Dead Caddis was the clear winner. Why so effective? Simply put, dead and dying insects are easy pickings, which matters when you're a trout that makes a living with your mouth. A bug that might fly away is less interesting.
Tie these to match your local caddis. Add tails and delete the rib and it becomes a mayfly pattern created and named by Charlie Craven after a South Park character whose name is screamed as a slur at wheelchair users, which is why I don't use it and won't repeat it here. (Note: I do not mean to imply that Charlie intended his pattern's name as a slur.)
