Nowgam Srinagar Blast: Grief Erupts in Kulgam as Body of Crime Branch Cameraman Reaches Home
Kulgam, Nov 15:
A pall of grief descended over Kulgam today as the mortal remains of Arshid Ahmad Shah, Crime Branch Cameraman from Kulgam who was martyred in the Nowgam, Srinagar blast, reached his native village.
Hundreds of locals assembled to receive the body, with emotional scenes witnessed as family, friends, and neighbours paid their respects to the departed soul. The atmosphere remained sombre as the community recalled Arshid’s dedication, professionalism, and service in the field of crime reporting.
Senior officials including DIG South Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, and SSP Kulgam visited the village to offer condolences to the bereaved family and express solidarity with the locals mourning the tragic loss.
The last rites of Arshid Ahmad Shah were performed with honour and huge participation from the community, marking a poignant farewell to the young cameraman whose service has left a lasting imprint.
Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and an investigation into the Nowgam blast is underway.
