(…) 우리가 살고 있는 일상은 베일에 싸인 공간이죠. 저의 작업은 제가 살고 있는 세계에 대한 질문으로부터 시작합니다. 질문에 대한 하나의 방식, 또 그것에 대한 응답, 그것이 저의 작업에 있어서 굉장히 중요한 동기가 됩니다. 그리고 저의 체험을 종이라는 공간, 종이라고 하는 어떤 속성, 종이 구조 안으로 밀어 넣는 작업을 하고 있습니다.” – 유근택

“When I use white powder or steel brush to deconstruct my paintings, I experience a complete dissolution of once-solid shapes. And as lines dissolve entirely, unexpected new forms arise in their place like specters. (…) The concept of the everyday, in fact, is a veiled space. My work primarily embarks from questions about the world I inhabit. Approaches to or answers to those questions, in certain ways, become crucial motivations behind my practice. My current work consists of pushing these experiences of mine into the spatial concept and qualities of paper, or the structures of paper.” – Yoo Geun-Taek
