I bought this Nintendo 64 from Mercari and when it arrived… the outside was absolutely gross!
Years of grime, dirt, and buildup — but surprisingly, the inside wasn’t terrible. That didn’t stop me from giving it the full ReviveMyRetro treatment.
In this restoration:
• Complete teardown
• Deep exterior cleaning
• Internal inspection
• Full capacitor replacement (recap)
• New LED install
• Fresh thermal pads
• RGB mod installation
• Before and after video comparison
Cosmetically this N64 was rough, but now it looks clean, runs cooler, and outputs crisp RGB video.
There’s something satisfying about taking a neglected console and bringing it back to life.
