Warming up is key to injury prevention in any sport, and Dragon Boat is no exception! Dragon Boating is a full-body sport, and as such Rae will lead you through a warmup that focuses on keeping your body warm and awake for the rotation in your stroke (emphasis on lats and hips)
The warm up is as follows:
4 x 10 Rotation Taps
2 x 10 Woodchoppers
2 x 10 Back Slaps/"Michael Phelps"
30 seconds/side Lat Stretch
2 x 10 Knee Tucks
Incorporate these stretches into your warmup before hopping on the erg, hitting the water with your team or in your OC1, using a SUP, or any other paddling-related activity!
