Mag or Green Gram are very healthy and nutritious. Mag Nu Shaak is a traditional Gujarati shaak recipe which is prepared using boiled moong dal cooked in traditional Gujarati spices. This gujarati recipe is not only healthy but is also tasty to eat.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
150 Gram Boiled Green Gram (Moong Dal)
3-4 Dried Red Chillies (Sukhi Lal Mirch)
10-12 Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta)
1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds (Rai)
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
½ Teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
½ Teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
2 Teaspoon Red Chilli (Lal Mirch) Powder
1-1.5 Teaspoon Dhana Jeera Powder
1 Teaspoon Kitchen King Masala
Juice of 1 Lemon
½ Teaspoon Jaggery (Gud)
Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
Salt
Water
Oil
Procedure:
1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, dried red chillies, curry leaves and stir well.
2. Add the boiled green gram and mix well.
3. Now add turmeric powder, dhana jeera powder, red chilli powder, kitchen king masala and salt.
4. Mix well.
5. Add lemon juice, jaggery and water used to boil green gram.
6. Mix well and cook with closed lid for 1-2 minutes.
7. Add some coriander leaves and Mag Nu Shaak is ready to eat.
8. Serve with Bhakri or Rice.
