Dyrhólaey is one of the most visited places in Iceland amongst tourists.
It's located on the south coast of Iceland and in fact it's the southernmost point in mainland Iceland.
Dyrhólaey is a small promontory with an elevation of 120 meters (390ft) with great view from all sides.
It's formerly an island of volcanic origin.
It's next to Reynisfjara which is best known as the black sand beach in Iceland.
In front of the peninsula there's is a large black arch of lava standing in the sea which gave the peninsula it's name the door hill island.
You can also see a large rock rising out of the ocean which is called the elephant stone because of it's resemblance of an elephant.
In the summertime you can find many Atlantic puffins nesting on the cliff.
