The first thing that comes up to mind when talking about triplet notes is 8th note triplets. Quarter note triplets are not so much addressed, but they are pretty tough to play right. In the straight note world playing quarter notes is not a big deal, but quarter note triplets are actually 6 equally long notes over 4 straight quarter notes in a 4/4 time signature. That means you have 2 notes on count 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, but four of them quarter notes in the off-beat. I'm gonna show you how to play them right in time.

BENJAMIN SCHIPPRITT is an enthusiastic and passionate musician since the very early 80s of the last century. His main instruments and base of musical thinking are the electric and western acoustic guitar, but he also enjoys singing and playing electric bass guitar, as well as producing, recording and mixing music in his studio. Spending a whole lifetime around his guitar, developing a virtuosic playing style and completing a full-time jazz guitar study at the Institute for the Arts in The Netherlands, he always got a strong beating heart for rock music. His creative song-writing and contributions cover many different styles of music and manage to perfectly fit that rocking attitude. Besides being a live- and studio-musician, he's utterly passionate about guitar teaching.

In summer 2018 the graduate of Artez Arnhem Benjamin Schippritt started a continuing series of free youtube guitar lessons. Benjamin’s Guitar-Nerdery is loaded with tons of guitar instructional videos about lead guitar techniques for creating solos. Adapting guitar techniques, hybrid picking exercises for guitar, hybrid picking shred licks, string skipping exercises, guitar tapping exercises, metal riffs in major and minor, the ionian system and using scales to create riffs, inverted power chords, cross-rhythms, guitar down tuning, strumming techniques for acoustic guitar, progressive acoustic guitar playing, how to use a metronome… This and much more has been or will be covered. His first season of 30 episodes set also great focus on rhythm guitar exercises and the importance of rhythm and timing in general. Simple and advanced rhythm guitar lessons by far not only for the progressive metal guitarist.
