Woodturning - African Splinters!

So, I wanted to try something a bit different this week. I've never been able to repeatedly cut straight angles before but with the help from my new bandsaw (https://www.tagserve.com/clickServlet...) it was easy.
The rolling pin is made from Wenge and Sapele and has been sanded to 10000 grit and finished with Food safe Oil. Let me know if you'd like to see me make some more segmented pieces, maybe with a more complicated and detailed pattern next time?

Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practise. The gloves I wear are tight fitting and don’t have any loose threads. I wear them for the protection of my skin. This is a risk that I am willing to take, however I am still very conscious of the potential danger and I do not touch any spinning parts of the lathe. DO NOT do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing.
