Indonesia is a maritime country and also an archipelagic country so that the role of ports is very important in many aspects. The existence of the port will increase the economic, social and cultural development of the community indirectly.
Ports also play a role in the development of education, relations between nations, and politics.
In general, port construction locations are in diverse ecosystems and socio-systems, while the types and types of ports built are also diverse.

port development activities will have a very large impact on aquatic biota around the port area. starting from the erection of foundation piles, and the construction of physical structures. Port facilities can disrupt biota in wetlands such as mangroves, crustaceans, fish larvae and other aquatic biota such as coral reefs and seagrass beds.

Disturbance to aquatic biota can occur directly or indirectly. For example, it is directly caused by dredging and development activities, while indirectly it is a follow-on impact from the decrease in seawater quality due to port operations.
