The last samurai visits Enkouji temple in Kyoto and experiences Zazen, Zen meditation. Enkouji temple belongs to Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. At this temple you can experience the Zen meditation including meditation, Samu ( Cleaning of temple ), Zen breakfast, Preaching by the head monk of the temple. The last samurai also explain what Zazen, zen meditation is. Enkouji temple is also a beautiful place with Karesansui style garden, Suikinkutsu, Koi pond, bamboo forest and the nice view of Kyoto city. And moreover this temple is not crowded compared to the famous temples in Kyoto.
