Monu, a 32-year-old technician from Punjab, was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition that required a transplant last year. But when he tested positive for COVID-19, he lost all hope. However, he was lucky to receive support from his employer to doctors who performed a double lung transplant on him. NDTV’s Uma Sudhir spoke to Monu as well as Dr Sandeep Attawar (transplant surgeon), to know more about the success of this surgery.
