بگذار تا بگرییم چون ابر در بهاران Let us weep like clouds in spring,
کز سنگ گریه خیزد روز وداع یاران For even stones would cry on the day of parting from friends.
هر کو شراب فرقت روزی چشیده باشد Whoever has tasted the wine of separation one day,
داند که سخت باشد قطع امیدواران Knows how hard it is to cut off the hopes of lovers.
با ساربان بگویید احوال آب چشمم Tell the camel driver about the flood of my tears,
تا بر شتر نبندد محمل به روز باران So he does not bind the litter on the camel on a rainy day.
سعدی به روزگاران مهری نشسته در دل O Saadi, a love has settled in the heart over the ages,
بیرون نمیتوان کرد الا به روزگاران It cannot be removed except by the passing of ages.
