I go dancing in...
New Year's day, 2011. Just recorded this this morning and boy do I look tired (I'm not though - just look it).
Sledgehammer contains what I think is a great bass line played by Tony Levin off of Peter Gabriel's "So" album, which, at one time, was my favorite album of all time.
I broke out my, seldom used, EBS Octabass octave box for this one for the low-lows. "Yes my man!", exclaimed Frank Pagnozi.
In the last band I was in, this was my favorite song to play. I would always take great satisfaction from seeing the look of mild panic on my friend Harry's face (he owned the PA system and we used no amps - everything went through the PA) as he wondered if this would be the night that his subwoofers exploded.
By the way, Tony Levin lives in nearby Woodstock, NY.
P.S. There's a rare (and brief) octave box inspired ad lib at the end of the video for those intrepid to stick around for it.
