Best Pratices - Just lighty swab the excess buildup on the top layer of the trench before the buildup is to much and it has to go to the other site and mess with the contacts etc. (watch the video I explain it in there)
I have own a few MAgic FLgiths and LOVE Them I have tried all ways to clean it and while the intial results are good if you mess around too much below the trench be prepared to get a new one!! its pretty hard to mess up and you really need to aggresibly poke around below but never the less its not the best way.
The best way is to be proactive abut it and borderline OCD and constantly be brushing away excess buildup excess dust - make sure that between hits even there is nothing stuck to the trench as that could easily couse combustion and build up.
