능동파괴체계는 적의 대전차 미사일과 대전차 로켓 공격에 대응하기 위하여 3차원 탐지추적레이더, 열상탐지추적기, 통제컴퓨터, 통제컴퓨터, 발사장치 및 대응탄으로 구성된 첨단 생존장비이며, 표적을 최초 탐지추적해서 위협판단 후 적의 대전차 미사일 및 로켓이 아군의 전차에 도달하기 전에 무력화시킬 수 있습니다.

[MND] K-2 tank's Active Protection System
This video shows that Active protection system test of K-2 tank. This was progressed by DAPA and ADD in Feb. 2012. APS is a high tech survival device in order to protect itself from enemy's anti-tank missile and rocket and it is composed of a 3 dimensional search and tracking radar, thermal detection and tracker, control computer, launcher and responsive bomb. After making a decision whether it is a threat or not, in prior to search and track the target, it can neutralize the enemy's anti-tank missile and rocket before attacking the our own tanks.
