The 8th video from Kancho Robert Sullivan’s seminar on day 2 of the GKR Karate Okinawa Experience 2025.
In this video Renshi Peter Durrant and Renshi David Gugich demonstrate a Tori and Uke drill which is the first part of Gekisai Rensoku.
Tori side steps forward in Sanchin striking Jodan Oi Tsuki, Uke side steps back blocking Jodan Age Uke, the Uke side then becomes the Tori side stepping forward striking Chudan Oi Tsuki while the now Uke side steps back blocking Uchi Uke, the Uke side again becoming the Tori side stepping forward 45 degrees in Shiko Dachi striking Gedan Tsuki while the now Uke side steps back 45 degrees in Shiko Dachi blocking Gedan Barai, and the drill repeats.
