"Vanity of Vanities," says the Preacher, "All is vanity"

"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." 1 Cor. 3:13-15

"Who [God] will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:" Romans 2:6-7

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences." 2 Corinthians 5:10-11

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22:12

Even in our best state it is vanity:

"Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah." Psalms 39:5

"When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah." Psalms 39:11

All glory belongs to the Creator:

"For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another." Isaiah 42:8

"I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Isaiah 48:11

"But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD." Numbers 14:21
