THEY SAY, The Impacts, RCA #7609 1959
Flipside: CANADIAN SUNSET – Here’s another really great unknown ballad from my music collection. The Impacts hailed from Brooklyn, New York. Group members were Kenneth Seymour (lead & baritone), Horace Brooks (tenor), Steve Liebowitz (tenor & baritone), Helen Powell (tenor) and Robert Baber (bass).
The Impacts would also record as The Blue Chips and in 1965 they released “WISHING WELL/HEARTACHES” (DCP #1147) as Kenny and The Impacts & “JUST BECAUSE/PIGTAILS” (DCP #1150) as The Impacts. As time went on, there would be different group member changes.
They also had one release “DARLING NOW YOUR MINE” for (Carlton #548) 1961.
When I first bought this record back in the day WOW! How many years ago was that? LOL. The Impacts and their arrangement of “THEY SAY” always reminded me a little bit of The Skyliners’ sound, well that’s me.
