In today’s video, I take you through the full transformation of the firewall on my 1969 Dodge Charger. We go through the process of removing the factory heater box, sealing the openings left behind, and adding sound deadening and insulation to make the interior quieter, cooler, and ready for the next stages of the build!
I walk through the entire process step-by-step:
✔ Removing the original heater box and hardware
✔ Prepping the firewall and cleaning the surface
✔ Applying 100mil butyl sound deadening
✔ Adding 1/4" closed-cell foam for heat and noise reduction
✔ Covering the heater-delete area for a clean, sealed finish
✔ Tips for working around wiring, contours, and tight spaces
✔ What materials I used and why
Whether you're restoring a classic Mopar, deleting your heater system, or trying to make your interior more comfortable, this guide will help you get a clean, professional result.
