Just like every year, four Wangala celebrations took place in Dhaka—three in Banani and one in Lalmatia. After gathering the year’s crops, the Garo community celebrates Wangala to express gratitude to the deity Misi Saljong, the giver of harvest and blessings.

Throughout the day, traditional dances, songs, and the rhythmic beats of the dama and bamboo flutes fill the atmosphere with joy. Colorful traditional attire, community gatherings, and cultural performances transform Wangala into not just a festival, but a grand reunion of the Garo people.
