Описание: On May 25th, 2013, I learned that there would be, yet again, a freight locomotive leading the eastbound Amtrak Southwest Chief. Apparently the train encountered engine problems out west, and a BNSF diesel was placed on the front in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The unit was BNSF 8730, a GP60 locomotive, still painted in its original Santa Fe "blue bonnet" paint scheme - followed by Amtrak P42's #186 and #25. The engine ended up leading the Chief all the way to Chicago. I caught the train as it made its station stop in Fort Madison, Iowa, at the Amtrak station and BNSF's division point and yards. This was the 3rd time I've seen a freight diesel pulling the Chief this year, but I think this was one of my best catches yet. Nothing better than seeing an old Santa Fe diesel running on the original Santa Fe mainline, pulling a passenger train of all things!
