"The Letro Enthusiast", 2000.
Letro×Chair formed in 1996. The group would spend the next three years going through a revolving door lineup with guitarist Ken-Chang and drummer Toshi being the only members to last from the beginning. By the fall of 1999, Letro×Chair would finally establish its first core lineup and in early 2000, the group would finally release its first demo, "Mile Stone", and later released its second demo, "The Letro Enthusiast", in the summer of 2000. In November of 2000, Letro×Chair released its third demo "The Letro Enthusiast 2" although shortly after its release, bassist Kazuyoshi (和義) left, ending the first fluid lineup in the group's history. Kazuyoshi would soon be replaced by Taien, however, and Letro×Chair then released its fourth demo in March of 2001, "Any More", and later released their fifth demo, "Letro Enthusiast" (not to be confused with "The Letro Enthusiast" from nearly a year before) that April. The group would release six more demos throughout the months of April of 2001, with each one being released for one-night only, and due to their prolificity, Letro×Chair would develop a cult following by the summer of 2001. In June of 2001, the group would finally release its first mini-album "~Letro Enthusiast III~ Many Drops Make a Shower", and also appeared on the "Make an Epoch 2" omnibus a few days after its release. Unfortunately, the album would unfortunately have poor sales in the visual underground, although the ambitious group were undeterred and later released their twelfth demo in November of 2001, "Torso", before Taien ended up leaving that December. He would be quickly replaced by Zin, however, and Letro×Chair then released their thirteenth demo, "Carry On!", in May of 2002. In July of 2002, the group released its second mini-album "Crimson Chair", which would serve as their long overdue breakthrough with its strong sales, and Letro×Chair would also appear on a split-demo with fellow indies visual groups Uranus and Amaterase (天照) that August as well. The group would tour throughout the remainder of 2002, before abruptly splitting in early 2003 at the peak of their popularity. Zin would retire from the visual scene after the group split and instead joined the underground group Himawary (向日葵), a non-visual group consisting of former visual musicians, under his full name of Tatsuo Owada (大和田達男). In 2009, however, he left Himawary and then returned to the visual scene for the first time in several years when he joined the popular groups Dibs, although he soon left that group as well and instead joined Lunch Voxx under his original alias of Zin. When Lunch Voxx also dissolved in 2016, however, Zin then retired from the visual and underground music scenes in general. The frontman of Letro×Chair, Mamoru, went on to form the L'arc~en~Ciel cover band Larclub (ラル倶楽部), and also formed the original group Puzzle in 2007. While Puzzle would eventually disband in 2009, Mamoru remains active in Larclub today.
