Tom Mankiewicz Conservation Carousel is the only ride at the Los Angeles Zoo. It opened in 2011, & has been operating ever since
Unlike most carousels, this carousel does not have any seatbelts, not even on the moving horses, so you have to hold on to the pole, & parents are allowed to go in for free to hold on to their child in case they let go of the pole. Overall, pretty good carousel, only $3 so it's on the cheaper end, & it has the most variety of animals of any carousel I've ever been to, & every single animal is different. You can ride a grasshopper, a panda, a giraffe, even a komodo dragon. I rode on a seal :) So basically, you can ride every animal except for a horse.
